In the near future, Tokyo was left flattened as a result from a great earthquake. A new city, MegaTokyo, was then recreated due in no small part from the aid of a multi-million dollar company, Genom Corp. Genom created and mass-produced biomechanical creatures called Boomers to aid in the restoration of MegaTokyo. When the Boomers began to run out of control, the ADPolice at first tried to stop them, but they proved to be far more difficult to deal with than was first imagined. Under the ever looming Boomer threat, a group of four girls from varying degrees of society banded together. Calling themselves The Knight Sabers, they were the only ones with enough firepower and resourcefulness to defend the fledgling MegaTokyo from Genom and it's berserk Boomers.

Then we jump to the future, after the signing of a peace treaty, one of our heroes gets captured by the Bacterians, can the military might of Gradius and our remaining heroes save the prisoner from a fate worse than death.
The story take place in new town called " Palm Town " which it is the new town that patty and her Aunt Jane move on to live there because Jane's husband George run a medical center there, however patty face some troubles cause she didn't get used to this new town and miss her hometown and also her friends but she mets up with Alice and then she get along with her and soon they become best friends so everyday they hang out together experience new things and enjoying there time and met a different people in order to make a lots of friends and unforgettable memories full of fun.
A recap OVA that portrays the second half of the series Heavy Metal L-Gaim. After the credits, there is a short clip animated for the OVA entitled "Pentagona Doors", which is intended to be comic relief.
